
The 2010 ECCCNYS has an effective date of December 28, 2010, and is based on the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). For the purposes of applying the 2010 Code Books in this State, the 2010 Code Books are deemed to be amended in the manner specified in the NYCRR. This Memorandum summarizes the amendments to the 2010 Code Books that have been made by the NYCRR. The International Codes, or I-Codes, are comprehensive, coordinated building safety and fire prevention codes developed and published by the International Code Council (ICC), and are used as the basis for the New York State Codes. Any interested individual or group may submit a code change proposal to ICC and participate in the proceedings in which proposals are considered. Visit the ICC site.
