Adoption of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 2004

ASHRAE Standard 90.1 2004 was formally adopted on April 9, 2008. To view the formal rulemaking notice, Volume XXX Issue 15 of the State Register, posted on April 9, 2008, please click here. Prescriptive [Table 402.1(1)] Compliance and Software Compliance Methods

The following 2 page PDF information sheet shows the new zone maps and the most prescriptive method specified in the Energy Code [Table 402.1(1)] for Residential thermal envelope options.  The other popular method, which still limits the amount of glass on a home, is the software method called REScheck (go here to download a free New York Specific copy).

Adoption of the 2007 New York State

Energy Conservation Construction Code

The 2007 version of the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code (ECCCNYS 2007) was formally adopted on January 1, 2008.  All projects permitted after this date will require compliance with the ECCCNYS 2007.  Copies of the ECCCNYS 2007 are available through the International Code Council by calling (800) 786-4452 or visiting their website at www.iccsafe.org.
