One of the firefighters is climbing the ladder to the roof so that a hole can be cut in the roof to let the smoke and heat out of the house. This is called ventilation.
Time To Put The Equipment Away
This firefighter is letting all the extra water run out of the hose. The hose must be dry before it is put back on the fire truck or stored in the fire house. Sometimes the firefighters lay the hose on the floor to dry, or hang it up or use a big hose dryer. The most important thing is that the hose be dry before it is put away and ready when there is another fire.

Hold Onto That Hose
You might be wondering why it takes two or more firefighters to hold a hose. When the fire hydrant is opened after the hose is attached, the water comes out so fast and is so heavy that they need more than one person to hold and move the hose around.
